It's Bright's Turn - "Bright"

1998 15.3 hh Dark & Dappled Bay Thoroughbred Gelding

HISTORY – Bright was donated to the Last Chance Corral sometime during 2006; where he was adopted by a local friend.  She was given the opportunity to travel for the summer of 2007 and decided to give Bright to me rather than leave him idle.

EXPERIENCE – Prior to meeting me Bright had done some police de-sensitivity training and not much else.  He began his hunter training in July 2007 and in less than 15 days of training he went to his first show.  I was tempted to enter him in the Pre-Green (2’9”) but backed off because he was so green.  He did not refuse or even look at a fence twice all weekend but bravely and honestly jumped the flowers, boxes and even the large oxers.  His flying changes are coming along nicely but still need more work before they are predictable and correct.

CONFORMATION & MOVEMENT – beautiful; his body is in wonderful condition, his coat is rich and shiny, and he has a long, full tail. His conformation is nearly perfect; he is very proportionally built with correct angles.  He has a long, elegantly placed neck and sloping shoulder.  He has a big, flowing trot and ample canter to get down the lines without running. Early on, Bright showed stylish and correct form over fences.

MANNERISIMS – Bright is accustomed to turn out with several other horses and is always easy to catch in the field. He stands quietly for bathing, will cross-tie for mane pulling, braiding, clipping, and farrier work. Bright is comfortable in the barn and in the arena with and without companions. He loads into and out of the trailer easily, hauls well, and will tie to the side.

EVENTS
08/07 - Reserve Champion Very Green Hunter 2’3” -  New Vocations Charity Show
(3rd in the warm-up, 1st over fences, and 4th on the flat; had we not pulled a rail in the second trip he would have been the champion).

POTENTIAL – hunters/equitation, jumpers, and eventing. He would best perform and progress under the guidance of an Intermediate Level Rider or greater.

SPECIFICS –full-cheek snaffle, regular bridle (cob sized caveson may be required) with standing martingale, a regular tree saddle with a 50" girth, and a 78" blanket.

VETERINARY & SOUNDNESS – He has not been hurt, lame, or ill since his arrival on the farm.

VIDEO – I think that Bright's video demonstrates his early talent but you can see that he still needs to work with a quiet, consistant rider to finish him out as a champion.

DVD – Call to reserve a copy of the next DVD featuring footage of Bright and others available for sale.
